the loss of a car.

I really enjoy living in Iowa City, I really do. But there are a couple areas in which I feel like Iowa City could take some advice from Ames, and one of those areas is the bus system (which I will be forced into using due to the death of the Alero... but I have yet to try....).

Reasons why Cyride is far superior to the Iowa City "bus system":
1. The Iowa City area feels the need to have 3 separate bus lines, whereas Ames neatly creates one efficient one.
2. Cyride is free. Who really wants to spend $80 a semester to ride the bus?
3. I watched a Cambus driver pull a 7-point u-turn in the middle of the Iowa St. bridge.
4. I also watched a Coralville transit bus have some issues in front of the English building. It was stopped, straddling both lanes. As a result I had to put the 'lero in off road mode and drive partially up on the curb, following suit of the minivan in front of me.
5. I also watched another Cambus driver sit at a green light, until it turned red... then green... then it went.

Need I say more about those crazies?

  1. you shouldn't have to deal with those crazy buses. cut your losses and move back to ames...haha just kidding.

It is ridiculous that there are 3 different bus lines. There's no point to that.
